Surrey Police: Can you Help? Reporting Fly-tipping

Surrey Police websiteWe are seeing an increase in reports of fly-tipping across Mole Valley.  This seems to be happening in several locations and we'd really like to disrupt this type of activity as soon as possible.

If you see anyone dumping rubbish etc...., please call in on 999 at the time you see it, giving as much information as possible - location, vehicle index, description of anyone involved etc..  In fact, any information that may help us to tackle this issue and deal with the offenders.

You will probably realise that this type of anti-social activity always comes at a cost to someone to clear the fly-tipped rubbish; be that the Council, the National Trust or individuals whose land or property may have been targeted.

Please help us to put a stop to this now!!
Thank you.

Music On Thursdays

Music on Thursdays, Leatherhead's 12.30 lunchtime concert series, is well under way. The intimate feel of Leatherhead Methodist Church suits these small-scale concerts well and is proving a hit with audience and performers alike. And what performers! There is the usual blend of students from the Royal Academy of Music - many of them completing their Masters of Music degree in Performance Studies. Then we have recent graduates of the RAM and London's other music colleges, and there is no shortage of local talent of the same high professional standard.
The musical event turns social after each concert when the new team from Vecchia Trattoria are in the Church selling sandwiches, cakes and drinks, providing a chance to linger and chat among ourselves and with the musicians.

Entry to these 35-45 minute concerts is free, with a retiring collection to cover costs.

Surrey Police: Appeal for witnesses following serious sexual assault in Brockham

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a teenage girl was seriously sexually assaulted in Brockham  (Saturday 21 July).

The attack is believed to have taken place in an alleyway adjacent to Wheelers Lane in the village centre between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.
The investigation is still in the early stages and officers are currently carrying out a number of enquiries to establish the full circumstances around the assault.

House-to-house enquiries are being carried out and officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood Team will be assisting detectives with the investigation.
Officers are appealing for anyone who was in the Brockham area yesterday evening and may have seen anything suspicious to come forward.
Detective Inspector Karen Mizzi   said: “The victim is extremely distressed and is currently being supported by specialist officers.
“There is a village fair on in Brockham this weekend so there would have been a number of people in the area last night and I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity to come forward.
“I would like to reassure the local community that we are doing everything we can to catch whoever was responsible for this crime.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference MV/13/2758 or call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
